This is a very special piece designed by Kathryn, inspired by the sacred San Marcos river. Measuring 5" X 15", it is an abstract representation of the river that springs forth from an immense underground aquifer, right here in beautiful San Marcos, Texas. These springs have nourished human civilization for over 13,000 years.

This piece uses lead construction and includes a variety of beautiful blue and aqua art glass. Because this piece is made upon your order, the glass may vary from the pictures. The long bevel at the base of the piece represents the aquifer, and moves into waving strands of wild rice, an endangered species that grows only in this river. From there the water flows, represented by flowing blue glass and tendrils of wire. Moving up, we see wispy wire clouds, and finally the piece is topped off by a square bevel, representing the sun that always shines on our river.

A zinc frame completes the piece, and two wire loops are attached to the top for hanging.
